I hope you like zombies because AMC sent me this behind-the-scenes reel featuring all kinds of gory awesomeness from the upcoming Walking Dead TV series based on the comics. I hope you're not squeamish.

And if you plan on hitting up this year's New York Comic Con, be sure to check out the Walking Dead panel on Sunday because they'll be showing off entire scenes from the show. And don't forget to set those DVR's to record The Walking Dead when it premiers on AMC on Halloween night!

If Seinfeld Characters Were Superheroes

Because we've all wondered at some point what the Seinfeld characters would look like dressed as comic characters (and don't say you've never thought about it!), Dave Wachter made this brilliant rendition.

Why No One Ever Invites Batman To Poker Night

Click the pic to see it in full size.

It should also be noted that super hero poker night takes place in the Marvel Universe, which could be another reason Batman doesn't get invited much. The DC heroes are more into Bridge.

Check Out Spider-Man and Albert Wesker In Action In This Latest MARVEL vs CAPCOM 3 Footage

Capcom announced these guys as playable characters during the 2010 Tokyo Game Show, but now we have footage of ‘em in full-on, @$$-kicking action.

First up is everyone’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and it looks like he’s learned a few new moves since MvC2. He’s even brought his Spider-Man-ish witty smart-@$$ery along this time. Also, loving the “win” pose where he hangs the camera with webbing. So awesome how Capcom paid close attention to bringing each character’s personality to life.

Next up is RESIDENT EVIL bad dude Albert Wesker. His moves are just plain bad@$$ and so is his theme music playing in the trailer below. It also seems like he brought his leather trench-coat and sunglasses from past RE games [Via THE MATRIX].

The more info that get’s released about this game, the more pumped we’re getting to kick the crap out of our friends in 3-on-3 combo-fueled deathmatches.

MARVEL vs CAPCOM 3: FATE OF TWO WORLDS hits PS3 and Xbox 360 in Spring 2011.

No More Variant Covers!!!

Apparently, variants are racist. Wait, what!?

Just watch.

This dude makes some pretty absurd accusations against the idea of variant comic covers, but he also brings up a lot of valid points. We're interested in hearing what YOU think about this. Please leave your thoughts in the comments.

Check Out X-23 in MARVEL vs CAPCOM 3: FATE OF TWO WORLDS

Wolverine’s female clone, X-23 will be slicin’ s*!t up like it’s nobody’s business in MARVEL vs CAPCOM 3: FATE OF TWO WORLDS. But just because she’s a clone of ‘ol Logan, don’t expect her to play like one. Unlike Wolvie, X-23 has daggers jutting from her feet, so expect an elegant, acrobatic mix of fluid-flowing punches, kicks, and aerial assaults.

Ever Wonder What Green Lantern’s GloBalls Taste Like?

With the upcoming release of the Green Lantern movie, it's best to prepare yourselves for the inevitable onslaught of Green Lantern branded green crap all over the grocery isles.

Get ready for flashbacks to the days of Incredible Hulk green ketchup. That stuff was just gross.

Fans of The Flash can also munch on a pair of The Flash Cakes - if that’s your particular cup of tea. We don’t judge.

MARVEL FOUNDER’S GRANDSON RESSURECTS ATLAS COMICS

Atlas Comics was the 1950's comic publishing company formed from Timely Comics founded in the 1930's. It later evolved into a little company that some of you may have heard of called Marvel Comics. Sound familiar?

The grandson of the dude who founded Atlas is re-launching the company at this year's New York Comic Con.

Press Release:

In 1974, Martin Goodman, the Founder of Marvel Comics, created Atlas Comics. On October 8th, 2010, Jason Goodman, the grandson of Marvel's Founder, will re-launch Atlas Comics at the New York Comic-Con.

Goodman, in association with Ardden Entertainment, will release Atlas' first two titles, THE GRIM GHOST and PHOENIX. Both series will draw from the original Atlas library that featured stories and art by such industry legends as Neal Adams and Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko.

THE GRIM GHOST and PHOENIX are the first of many Atlas properties that Goodman plans on releasing. "Although my grandfather eventually sold Marvel, he insisted on keeping Atlas Comics in the family. As a result of his vision, Atlas Comics is the largest individually-held library of heroes and villains on the planet.”

Goodman continues, “We have twenty eight titles and hundreds of characters imagined by some of the greatest minds in the industry. They will now find a new life in comics, television, and movies. We are thrilled to finally bring these great characters back for the world to enjoy."

Co-President of Ardden Entertainment and comic book industry veteran, Rich Emms, and Brendan Deneen, Co-President of Ardden Entertainment and a former development executive for Scott Rudin and Bob & Harvey Weinstein, add, “Ardden has had success and critical acclaim for our own Flash Gordon and Casper the Friendly Ghost re-launches. We are very excited to be working with Jason and his Atlas team on revisiting a group of characters created by some of the biggest names in the business.”

Ardden’s Editor-in-Chief and legendary comic writer, J.M. DeMatteis, concludes, “"The Atlas universe is filled with characters of tremendous potential and, after thirty-five years, it's great to see Phoenix and Grim Ghost finally make their return."

Live-Action HACK/SLASH May Be Delayed, But An "Illustrated Film" Version On Its Way

While a live-action adaptation of the Hack/Slash comics has been buzzed about for quite some time, it's been about a year since Stephen Susco was hired to re-do the script. It's pretty safe to say we won't be seeing Cassie and Vlad take on the slashers on the big screen any time soon.

But worry not! There's an "illustrated film" version on the way based on the "My First Massacre" story arc which wind up being one of two things: (A.) an actual animated film with the potential to kick much @$$, or (B.) one of those gimmicky motion comics. Okay, maybe we should be worried.

Check out the short teaser trailer below and you can be the judge.

Bonus points for the song "Where Eagles Dare" by The Misfits aka one of the greatest punk rocks songs of all time.

Produced by Halo-8 Entertainment, Hack/Slash will be released on DVD along with an illustrated film based on the Loaded Bible comic, also by Hack/Slash creator Tim Steely.

Joe Madureira’s Alternate Cover for Vampirella #1 is Very… Crotch-y.

Fresh-to-death comic artist Joe Madureira will be lending his linework to Dynamite Comics for the first time ever with his alternate cover for the upcoming Vampirella #1. Vampirella is known for having one of the skimpiest (aka impractical) costumes ever, which Madureira’s interpretation of the female form lends itself well to.

Other artists doing covers for Vampirella #1 are Alex Ross, Jelena Kevic-Djurdjevic, and one of my personal all-time favorites, J. Scott Campbell. Vampirella #1 goes on sale this November.

Captain America Costume Revealed

The Daily Mail is bringing us photographs of the Captain America costume.

The scene below involves a motorbike chase between Steve Rogers and agents of H.Y.D.R.A. It's important to mention that the stills of Captain America isn't of Chris Evans but that of his stunt double. Click on either of the below  images for more full costume shots at The Daily Mail:

Finally an Answer to why Han Solo dumped the cargo

The Solo Adventures from Daniel Smith.

The film was directed and co-written by Daniel Smith for Dave School. If you are looking to see this wonderful animated short in 3-D you will need the classic red-and-cyan anaglyph glasses. The animated short was sponsored by Lucasfilm and actually won the 2010 Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge in June. But since then it's been cleaned up and was shown just recently at Star Wars Celebration.

Best in Berks Award

1up Collectibles, is looking for your help to win several Best of Berks Award. Berks County is where his shop is located, and there’s a local magazine called Berks County Living that features articles on various things ranging from urban patios to local art.

Each year, the magazine bestows awards to certain local businesses in different categories. Sadly, there is no category for “Best Comic Book Shop” "Best Toy Store" or even "Best Book Store", but there IS a category for “Best Crab Cakes”. I have polled several individuals when they think of Berks County do they think Crab Cakes? The answer has consistently been No. There are several opinions on why this category was created but I would rather not go into this. However, we have decided to take this category littoral and offer Crab shaped Cakes for our customers.

So, if you’d like to support a local comic shop while causing some lolz and shaking up the system at the same time, please click this link and vote for 1up Collectibles in categories  5, 9, 10, 13 and 17. Make sure to vote for them in category #9, that’s the crab cakes one.
