"Batman XXX: A Porn Parody" Named Best-Selling Porn Of The Year

It's official, nerds make the biggest perverts, but I'm pretty sure most of us already knew this. Also, how about Lexi Belle as Batgirl? Rowr!

PR

After being at the top of the adult sales charts since its release, Batman XXX: A Porn Parody has now been officially named Best Selling Title of the Year by AVN. The movie, written, produced and directed by Axel Braun and distributed by Vivid Entertainment, was also named Best Renting Title of the Year.

“I am absolutely stoked” said Braun, who also received a record 48 AVN nominations and is being inducted in the AVN Hall of Fame 12 years after his father, porn-pioneer Lasse Braun. “In 2010 I honestly worked harder than ever, but I was also lucky enough to be in a position where I could choose projects that I was truly passionate about. Being recognized for doing something you actually love is quite a fantastic feeling!”

Batman XXX: A Porn Parody, the sexy spoof of the campy 60’s TV show, accounts alone for 16 of Braun’s 48 AVN noms, and it already won Best Parody awards earlier this year at the NightMoves Awards Show and at the F.A.M.E. Awards.

Showing no signs of slowing down in the upcoming year, Braun is currently putting the final touches on the editing of the highly anticipated Superman XXX: A Porn Parody, and is busy casting the lead roles for his upcoming hi-budget Spider-Man XXX: A Porn Parody, featuring the villain Electro, to be shot in February for the Vivid SuperXXXHero imprint.

Board the TARDIS This January In IDW's New Doctor Who Series

For nearly half a century, an inquisitive and adventurous man from the forgotten world Gallifrey known only as the Doctor has journeyed through time and space in his spacecraft, a rickety Type-40 TARDIS forever locked in the form of a 1960s London Police Box. Together with Amy Pond and Rory Williams, the Doctor explores the cosmos and battles evil in all its myriad forms in BBC America's hit television series Doctor Who.  This January his adventures continue in IDW's new comic book series based on the show, and the publisher whets retailer appetites and fandom interest with a delectable line-up of free incentive covers from fan-favorite artists.
Tony Lee, the writer of the tenth Doctor’s ongoing adventures from IDW, continues his chronicles of the Last of the Time Lords with the new eleventh Doctor, portrayed by Matt Smith. In Doctor Who #1 the Doctor, Amy Pond, and Rory Williams battle holographic spam and "friending" requests on a planet that's hours from destruction by an alien race. Illustrated by Andrew Currie, this single-issue story features 50/50 covers, with one cover boasting a promo photo of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan (the actress that portrays Amy Pond) and the other featuring new artwork from Tommy Lee Edwards (Turf).
Kelley Yates, who worked with Lee on Doctor Who: The Forgotten, creates a die-cut gatefold Incentive Cover  that allows fans to "open" the TARDIS and see the Doctor inside.

As with Tony Lee's first run on Doctor Who, each story arc of the eleventh Doctor's adventures will feature a different artist, giving the series a different style and ambiance with each story, much as different episodes of the television series have different styles. Upcoming artists include Buckingham, Richard Piers Rayner (Road to Perdition), and Matthew Dow Smith (Doctor Who).
While everyone eagerly await the Christmas Day broadcast of the new Doctor WhoChristmas Special, "A Christmas Carol," and IDW's new comics in January, take the opportunity to interest them in the Doctor's earlier comic book adventures. Tony Lee's sixteen-issue epic adventure of the tenth Doctor, leading into his final television stories, is collected into three volumes. Volume 1: Fugitive collects issues 1 through 6 and takes the Doctor from silent film-era Hollywood to the far future where he is put on trial for his life due to interference with a fixed point in time and space. Volume 2: Tessaract collects issues 7 through 12 and sees the Doctor take on two new companions as the TARDIS is invaded by creatures from outside time and the Doctor is summoned by UNIT to deal with foliage gone mad. The final collection,Volume 3: Final Sacrifice collects the Doctor Who Annual and issues 13 through 16, drawing together elements from the two preceding volumes as the Doctor must thwart a plan that would rewrite time while attempting to save a former companion from his worst enemy.
Time and space beckon for you the Doctor Who fan this winter. With the Doctor Who Christmas Special airing on Christmas Day and the sixth season coming in the spring, this is the perfect time to stock up on these comics and trade collections starring the Last of the Time Lords. An acclaimed Doctor Who writer, teamed with some of the best artists in the business makes IDW's new eleventh Doctor ongoing series a must-have for every Whovian!

Apparently This Is The Green Lantern Trailer, But All I See Is Junk.

Why is his junk so emphasized!? And does anybody else get the feeling that every new super hero movie is gonna’ be all Tony Stark’d and have a cocky, smart-ass-y, playboy type protagonist? And also, WHY IS HIS JUNK SO EMPHASIZED!?

I imagine something like the following scene happening somewhere during this flick’s development.

Ryan Reynolds: So, who am I playing again?

Casting director: Hal Jordan, aka the Green Lantern.

Reynolds: Nope. No good. I think maybe I’ll just play Ryan Reynolds instead.

Casting director: Okay, but we’re gonna’ have to make your junk look HUGE.

Must Read for Wednesday

Out of all the great titles to choose from there is one comic that has made the top of my list since issue #1 came out... and I'm pretty sure if you know me you can guess which one it is.

From the DCU Blog:
Bruce Wayne is back – but how did the world’s greatest detective overcome Darkseid’s Omega Effect and return to his proper place in time and in Gotham? Writer Grant Morrison – in tandem with versatile artist Lee Garbett – presents a turning point in his ongoing and intricate Batman saga with BATMAN: THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE #6, which, like BATMAN AND ROBIN #16, sets the stage for this month’s epic Batman launches and new direction.
Batman: Return of Bruce Wayne #6, Grant Morrison/Lee Garbett/Walden Wong, $3.99, 40 pages, full color, DC Comics.

Check out a few pages from the issue below, which hits this Wednesday.

Must Reads for Wednesday

So, this is my first attempt at this. I plan on putting up my picks every week here.

Batman and Robin #16This is, after all, the finale of Grant Morrison's run on the title before he kicks off Batman, Inc later this month, and with the last page of Batman and Robin #15 leading into it, it looks like fans of the Detective should gear up for a good time

This story brings me back to part of my later teen years reading Batman in a story from Batman #452 - 454. I have no plans on spoiling it for everyone but if you were to read this book and then look at the three-part story "Dark Knight, Dark City" you will see a lot of similarities.

Don't miss this fantastic finale as BATMAN AND ROBIN's storyline connects with THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE! The climactic showdown between Batman and the Black Glove is finally here. It's payback time for The Dark Knight as Batman and Robin face the ultimate evil. Will Damian betray his father's legacy? Will Bruce Wayne return just in time to see Dick Grayson die? Plus, The Joker and Professor Pyg!

This is only the beginning of a startling new status quo for the Batman…

Secret Six #27I'm not really sure where to begin on this. I mean do I want to read the this book because Bane is riding a T-Rex or could it be that this cover is just completely awesome. The only thing that would make this cover better would seeing Batman riding a terradactyl.

The confrontation you never thought would happen is here! It's Bane vs. Scandal in a time-lost world, as the two Secret Six teams find themselves on opposite sides of a vicious war that could destroy Skartaris!

Check in and vote on foursquare

With election day day tomorrow, Foursquares is giving people yet another reason to go to their voting booth on Tuesday (in case choosing your government isn’t reason enough): a new ‘I Voted’ foursquare badge. On election day, simply head out to your local polling station and check in when you vote to unlock the badge. Or the second option for individuals that are mailing there votes in simply shout "‘I Voted"  at any  location you would normally check in.

This is Foursquares first ever attempt to encourage it's followers to check in for a civic cause. The most important thing to remember is not the cool badge you will receive but more importantly this is a chance for your voice to be heard..
